Emma's First Post

Hi, I'm Emma; a youth volunteer at the Academy of Sciences. Here are a couple of things about me that I would like you to know.

I really enjoy learning about science; my favorite field is biology, but I am taking physics this year. I think it's very interesting how something as simple as objects falling can be interpreted as "science".
I also enjoy dealing with computers, such as programming some games and participating in a robotics club at school.

In my free time, I love writing stories. Whenever I have time, I would start writing a random story about anything that I could think about, since creative writing is one of my most favorite things to do.
I also really love surfing the internet, gaining random facts about celebrities, handy tips for cooking, and watching videos about people creating things (anything actually; I really love watching people make things because they inspire me to try something new.)

In terms of science outside of school, I love learning about the different types of fish, and how evolution caused many species to change overtime. I am the type of person who prefers to go to aquariums instead of zoos, although learning about land animals is quite interesting as well.
I also love learning about the human body; I have always thought it was really fascinating especially I since had a major neurosurgery this summer. :)

Here is a video that I found quite interesting:
